日本の繁栄を牽引してきた絹産業。
その魅力に触れていただきたいと思い、この度、イベントを開催することとなりました。
東京産の蚕（生体）、繭、生糸、真綿、養蚕農家の写真の展示をします。
また、絹石鹸、ショール、白生地などの純国産絹製品の販売や、正絹金襴・緞子の販売をする予定です。
是非お越しください。
6/3(土), 4(日)は西荻窪の街イベント「西荻茶散歩」が開催されます。
この機会に西荻の街を散策してみてください。

真綿の帽子作りワークショップ
東京産の真綿（蚕の繭を引き伸ばして綿状にしたもの）で帽子を作ります。
真綿はとても軽く、手触りも良く、保温性・吸湿性に優れています。

東京シルク
東京シルクとは1995年に発足された「多摩シルク21研究会」によって考案されたブランド名で、東京都内に残る数件の養蚕農家によってつくり出される優良繭を使用しています。東京シルクの特徴は、多摩の風土が育てた「素材のかもしだす美しさ」です。
使用する絹糸の原糸は、繭保存の為に一般的な高温乾燥でなく、繭にとって自然でやさしく、黄変しにくい冷蔵保存を行い、ゆっくりとした巻き取り速度で繰糸した上質な生糸です。
また生糸づくりの生命といえる「水」は伏流水を用いておりますので、繰糸された生糸はふっくらしており、色は純白で、艶があります。
東京シルクは、作り手一人一人が育んできた技によって、まさに真珠のような輝きを持つシルクです。
絹本来の良さは肌に触れてみて初めてその真価が分かると言われますが、まさに東京シルクはその通り素晴らしい絹です。
東京シルクは、養蚕、製糸、撚糸、染織する人々が緻密に連携し合い、使う人の視点に立って作り上げた美しい絹です。
Tokyo Silk
The brand name, Tokyo Silk, was defined by the Tama Silk Life 21 Research Group, established in 1995. It is the name given to silk that is created from high quality cocoons produced by only a few sericulture farmers who remain in the Tokyo prefecture.
The distinctive feature of Tokyo Silk is “the beauty brought forth by the nature of materials that is engendered by the climate and spirit of the Tama region”.
The cocoons destined to become Tokyo silk yarns are preserved at a low temperature that is more gentle and natural for the cocoons, instead of applying the standard dry heat method, in this way preventing the cocoon from turning yellow.
Stands of silk are slowly drawn from the cocoons in order to make the high quality raw silk yarns.
The use of water is essential in the production of raw silk.
Using natural water for the reeling of raw silk yarns enables the yarns to remain fluffy, pure white, and glossy.
Tokyo Silk shines like pearls thanks to the skills and experience of everyone involved. It is said that the quality of silk becomes apparent when it touches the skin.

Tokyo Silk is produced by the close collaboration of a number of specialists in the areas of sericulture, raw silk making, yarn twisting, dyeing and fabric weaving.
